Life360 now lets parents order Uber rides for teens without leaving the app

Life360 and Uber launched an integration that lets parents request and coordinate Uber rides for teens and other family members directly inside the Life360 app. Parents can tap a family member's real-time location on the Life360 map, and the pickup details auto-fill in the Uber app. Trip progress is visible on either platform.

Uber's teen accounts, available for ages 13 to 17, have completed tens of millions of trips across more than 50 countries since launching in 2023. Only highly rated, experienced drivers who have passed multi-step safety screening, including motor vehicle record and criminal background checks, can receive requests from teen account holders. Parents get real-time notifications and trip tracking.

During summer break, teens take more trips to the mall, movie theaters, sports camps, and other community destinations, with over 40% of teen rides happening while many parents may still be at work,” said Margarita Peker, Head of Family Verticals at Uber.

Life360 has approximately 97.8 million monthly active users across more than 180 countries. The company has been positioning itself as a “family super app” by integrating third-party services into its location-sharing platform. Uber has been aggressively expanding its platform through partnerships across autonomous vehicles, delivery, and now family coordination.

The integration is live in select markets as of June 18. It works across iOS and Android. Life360 has previously faced scrutiny over selling location data on millions of users, a context worth noting for a feature that now connects real-time teen locations directly to a ride-hailing service.
